Notably, Rajan ignited a cricket revolution in North Texas, transforming the sport from a niche pastime into a thriving community of over 7,000 players and robust sponsors network in just 22 years, building modern infrastructure and expanding leagues to over 100 cricket clubs - an achievement recognized by ABC News in May 2021. Educated at the prestigious IIT (BHU), Varanasi, and IIT Bombay, Rajan is a passionate technologist, entrepreneur, devoted family man, and lifelong learner who resides in Dallas, Texas.
This relentless pursuit of excellence culminated in a historic feat: Rajan became the first Indian American and only the third Texan (out of 31 million residents) to summit Mount Everest since Hillary and Tenzing's groundbreaking 1953 ascent. Mingma Tenzi Sherpa is a legendary figure in Himalayan climbing, boasting 39 ascents of 8,000-meter peaks, including a historic first winter ascent of K2—a world record. Widely regarded as one of the finest mountain guides of his generation within the close-knit Himalayan climbing community, he has long been the trusted expert for fixing ropes on the world's most challenging 8,000-meter peaks. Born and raised amidst the world's highest peaks, Mingma Tenzi Sherpa began his mountain career at the age of 15, working as a porter to support his family. Through dedication and perseverance, he progressed from porter to cook, then assistant trekking guide, ultimately transforming into a formidable mountaineer renowned for conquering the dauntingly difficult 8,000-meter peaks.
Mingma Tenzi relies on Save the Duck gear, as his essential equipment for extremely high-altitude mountaineering since 2018. This highlights his commitment to empathy and sustainability, as these summit suits are 100% feather-free and constructed with nearly 50% recycled plastic—a positive impact for both animals and the environment. Mingma Tenzi has achieved 13 peaks with his pledged goal of climbing all 14 of the world's 8,000-meter peaks saving the geese and ducks.
